Eheim Compact 600 Pump?
 

Hey, who here has any experience with this pump?? I found a place to get it very cheap and am wondering how two of these in series would perform??
Combined with a dual 120mm heatercore, cpu block, and res
I know it is not a very powerful pump, but I'm thinking two of them in series may perform decent?
How would two of these compare to a single Danner Mag3?

afaik the eheim compacts are submerged use only... so 2 in series would require 2 res's (or some kind of imaginatiive modding..)

I know this article is in danish, but looking at the pictures you'll probably be able to figure out how to convert an eheim compact pump to inline:

the yellow stuff in one of the last pictures (thats looks like its retouched in paint) is araldite (spelling?)

Basicly looks like he sealed the impeler houseing useing some kind of epoxy sealent.

Yeah plus mounting an inlet fitting, turned out it improved the pumps performance a bit. One just have to be careful not top glue the impeller to the housing :)

interesting..... any idea how the noise level compares with a regular eheim/other pumps?

I'd imagine they're pretty damn quiet, considering the reserator uses one.

i meant in (modded) inline use - wondered if it was mentioned in the article at all (not being able to read danish...)
i presume that the water/res significantly muffles the sound of a submerged pump....

The pump used in the article is the compact 100 (300L/h), which is silent. The sound level of the higher performance pumps must be higher, but how high, if noticable at all is not mentioned in the article.

My guess is that the compact 1001 (600L/h) is close to if not completely silent, while the compact 1002 (1000L/h) makes a wee bit of noice. Though its only speculations, I have tried neither of the pumps... You might have to try googling a bit
