Passive NB cooling and overclock
Hello!
What´s Your experience in passive heatsinks and overclocking? There´s a passive HS on the NB of my Asus A7N8X-X. Anyone who has successfully overclocked such an MB without frying it? Last winter my old Soltek (VIA KT266A chipset) gave up with a fair amount of overclock and a Zalman passive heatsink, and I´m a little afraid to fry another NB. regards Mikael S. OK, OK, I know, if You´re not willing to loose it, don´t overclock it. |
depending on the chipset, heatsink and your voltages running a passive sink is quite safe and effective. BTW I dont think if you do it right and keep your voltages sane that running a passive nb heatsink will fry your mobo

Feels like I´ll have to learn this from the beginning: How do I set the voltage for the NB? I haven´t come across any such setting in the BIOS.
