nb heatsink?

just got my new system runing only one problem the nb is hot. iive been looking for a better cooler (swiftech seems to be good) any suggestions/ideas?

Swiftech is a fine choice. For another low pressure drop, DangerDen also has a good product.

Sorry for intruding but I have a similar problem with a slight twist. I have a MSI Neo4 Platinum/SLI board, and I would like to use two video cards on it. My NB fan is loud, and I am willing to do anything to tame it without overheating. The problem is that if I install a second video card, it over-runs the NB, so any selection I make would have to be thin. If I stick a water block on it, the barbs get in the way, if I try something passive like a Zalman chipset cooler, it’s also too tall. Here is a picture of the motherboard.

Am I stuck with the stock cooler for my chipset?

Man, that has got to be the coolest block ever...

Possibly the most restrictive as well...

You may be able to adapt an innovatek x-flow or a koolance for NB use.

We promote DIY solutions here. There's a fine article on the frontpage on how to make your own shroud, using fiberglass/resin.
