Eheim 1250 Problem

Being incredibly stupid, when re-building my system after a flush, I pushed the inlet fitting on so that the shaft was not properly in the little hole and then turned on the pump. It didn't spin properly of course. After taking it apart again and putting it back together properly, it still won't spin up.

Have I burnt out the motor? Do I need a new shaft?

Any ideas?

Doubt you burned anything up. That may even be impossible.

Reevaluate your assembly. Possibly reference an exploded view or parts diagram.

Is the shaft bent? Will the rotor spin freely on it?

I have an unused 1048 at work and I will look at it Monday to make suggestions. (I can't remember how they are made)

Thanks for the input. I'm bidding on a second-hand one on ebay which would then give me all the parts required to determine the fault. Once I know I can buy the part and then sell the lesser of the pair.

You probably just need to re-attach the inner bushing to shaft. The part number for a new impeller assembly is Part #: 7640960 [60 Hz]. Here's a few links that might come in handy.

The shaft in my 1048 is ceramic. -Not gonna bend...
Like Monkey said -probably a thrust washer or bushing out of place or distorted.

Well, I got the replacement pump today http://www.jms101.btinternet.co.uk/b...ld_std/cry.gif Must've come straight out of a pond. http://img90.exs.cx/img90/2365/k1ocray.gif. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...es/neutral.gif

Much cleaning of scum later, the pump looks better. I could see from the replacement one, that the shaft on my broken one seemed OK http://php-net.net/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif so I put my "broken" one back to gether and it worked first time. It wasn't broken at all!! http://img133.exs.cx/img133/6927/explotar2jr.gif

So now I've got a spare 1250! Anyone need a pump?

Ah, unfortunately I'm guessing indiana isn't too close to Moab (otherwise known as London, England!) I think postage might be a bit dear and the old greenback isn't worth what it used to be. Not saying you can't afford it but I'm also guessing you wouldn't want a 240v model ;)

Two 1250s in series? For one cpu alone?

monkey_1 03-22-2005 06:25 PM

separate loops if you had a gpu or chipset block. You could alway use as a household tool or as a backup. :p

I might be interested in a second 1250....
And Manchester is a good deal closer than Indiana. ;p

Butcher, my e-mail is in my profile if you're serious.
