What The F&$%?

Just scary on MANY levels.... How these people are allowed to post this shit......

"Swiftech 12volt heatsink h20 pump"
"ordinary H20 heatsink cooler pipe / tubing"
"Water Cooler heatsink system tests"

somehow, my english just sounds better now!

Cathar 03-14-2005 11:23 PM

A1 Electronics is the Internet equivalent of the court jester (or village idiot) when it comes to anything technical.

You read it, and just keep asking yourself "This has to be a deliberate attempt at humour - right?"

jaydee 03-14-2005 11:37 PM

Ok, I am glad I am not the only seeing some serious issues. Anyone saying they don't need hose clamps, dissing quality tubing because they have to use hose clamps and doesn't know the difference between piping and tubing should not be allowed near anything that has water flowing through it let alone allowed to do reviews on such things. Also I thought calling the MCP350 a "super Swiftech 12volt heatsink h20 pump" was rather humorous. To bad people read that shit and take it seriously.

Your're right Cathar, I had to read that several times to realize the dude was serious....

Etacovda 03-15-2005 12:12 AM

jeez jd, you missed the part where they compare everything to their all-powerful 'modified' (we're l33t111!) thermaltake aquarious 3....

http://www.a1-electronics.net/Heatsi...III_Mod7.shtml

'WORLDS BEST WATERCOOLER!' shit stew, you better stop making waterblocks, you've been bested by the engrish rocket team!

Wholly shit...... I am disapointed manufactures send stuff to these fools.

Free press, jaydee. Even bad press is press. That seems to be good business sense even if it is counter-intuitive. :(

BillA 03-15-2005 12:44 PM

jd
while we may disdain such pulp;
it must be remembered that they pander, excuse me, cater to the specific capabilities, excuse me, interests of their readers, excuse me, viewers

imagine yourself in technical pre-school

MadHacker 03-15-2005 12:50 PM

they make Swiftech look good with the
"super Swiftech 12volt heatsink h20 pump" :D

jaydee 03-15-2005 06:41 PM

I understand Brian and unregistered.

But what bothers me is there is NOTHING stopping me from starting a review site and simply making reviews up using pictures acquired off the net and just making up performance numbers and putting them in a graph. The worst part about that is I bet the numbers I make up are closer to reality than the numbers these fools collect in their so called tests.

Only thing keeping me from doing that is morals. I know a lot of people lacking in that department. I wonder how many sites out there just make shit up based on other reviews.

There should be some kind of accountability. Why buy $1,000 of testing equipment to do reviews when I could just make the shit up and get just as big an audience? That's the impression a lot of the sites get IMO because no one is capable of making them accountable. The companies that make the products don't want to and the readers can't be bother to learn anything.... When people like us call them on their bull shit they cry foul and make us look like we are in the wrong.

It is a sad situation.

All I want to know is where I can get some of this heat sink tubing... because my heatsinks have no tubing on them now and I am afraid I am going overheat without that!

hehe

Make sure you get the cheap stuff from the local hardware store. I hear the expensive stuff is no good and requires special clamps.... :D

My favorite:

Yes the tubing is flexible BUT it is very, very thick and the overall outside diameter for 1/2" inside bore size is like 1" and it weighs a lot as well. Far too heavy.
Wow, that's heavy man!!!

maxSaleen 03-15-2005 08:29 PM

What I find the most amusing, and it doesn't appear that anyone has noticed, is that they don't even list THE MANUFACTURER'S NAME OR WHERE THE HELL THEY BOUGHT IT FROM!

There needs to be a website, much like reseller ratings, for computer enthusiasts. A1 would be real close to the top of the "arbitrary crap" list.

I brought that idea up before. Problem is most people qualified to make the distinction between good and bad have much better and more profitable things to do. :D

bigben2k 03-15-2005 09:40 PM

The indicator for me is that the reviews lack an author name.

BillA 03-16-2005 10:32 AM

it was a group effort, no single person was ignorant enough

Bill, that is a GREAT quote. I need to use this one at work, where products are often designed by committee.
