WTB CNC mill services for HAL 9000
I've begun preparing to building a HAL 9000 Faceplate/coputercase.
However I have realized that the metal ring found circling his infamous eye is rather hard to make, that is without a CNC Mill. That is where you guys come in.... I was hoping that someone could help me with this project by machining out this ring. It has a 3.577in. outer diameter on the bottom (3.51 on top), 3.042in. inner diameter, it is .355 inches thick its inner edge has been cut so that it has a quarter circle that has a diameter of .28in. (it isn't a perfect circle in the real model but I am trying to cut down on complexity, it is really a curve that takes .09 in. off the top if the inside of the ring and .14in from the top down to the inside of the ring.) I have pictures/dimentions of this ring from someone else that has built some HAL replicas if any of my descriptions are not clear enough, However I have nowhere to host them atm. If some one could email me at the.lipster(at)gmail.com that would be willing to host them I could clarify on my description a great deal. I would be willing to pay for materials and any endmills required for the job (you get to keep them) contact me at the.lipster(at)gmail.com Thanks, Carl |
Sounds cool, email me the drawing should be fairly cheap as long as I get too make one for myself :)
I'll do it after hours at AVT |
