ATI and Danger Den...
 

This is pretty damn coooool! :D Looks like ATI is using the Danger Den TDX and other DD water blocks to cool their chipset on this DFI board.

Yeah the board is going to be from whomever wants to make them. Saphire the first to be seen I guess. I was interested to see the ATI logo and red lucit or acrylic for the tops of the water blocks. I wonder if ATI is going to suppply these blocks to the mobo makers or if this was just a PR board.

I thought I read in that thread that DD will be selling them for that board when it is released

Probably, I wonder what kind of deal they struck with ATI to do that.

yup thats a mosfet cooler. Thats the nicest enthusiast board i've seen yet.

The mosfet cooler is nice, but I'll give ATI a few generations before I rely on them for system drivers. The Catalysts were still pretty marginal compared to the robustness of NVIDIA drivers and my 6600GT.

Yeah I love my 9600 Pro, but I'm not going to beta test their drivers again. I'll wait and see how the reviews are.

I can't really reveal how I know this but this board is going to be wicked overclocker. I mean SICK.

Anyone who knows even a little about processors and motherboards knows this... The power is going to be rock solid - > one of the biggest problems. Be sure to get a 500W+ PSU for this board guys.

Been using ATI cards since the 9800Pro came out. Have yet to have a single problem in a game that was not solved by a driver upgrade because I had some months old driver on there, and ATI had already released the driver that solved the problem for the game by the time I had the game in my hands.

Pretty much the same story with nVidia.

Prior to the release of the 9800Pro's ATI's driver support was pretty so-so, but I cannot fault them for anything they've done with the video card drivers in the last 24 months. They've really picked their game up on this score.

If the on-paper specs for the power circuitry implementation is accurate with how the board is constructed, and there have been no stupid shortcuts by using cheap and crap componentry, then this board could not be anything other than a spectacular overclocker.

I've been lamenting for years that there still are no motherboard makers out there who take power regulation on the motherboards really seriously, and this is the first board I've seen that on paper at least implements everything I've ever wanted.

I hope so much that this board is a success and does what they say it does, if only because it will drive others to lift their game.

true for the Windows side, but on Linux we have a different story with Nvidia drivers getting worse, they are still light years ahead of ATI drivers
