i didn't even realize the author until i moved along to the 3rd page, and looked at the pictures...primarily the orientation of the "primary heat exchanger" i hate to bring up old--well, anyway, i'm just still not impressed with his test setup...at all pH you ever consider testing kits in the future? |
I know we're probably not supposed to rag on l3d's reviews after that big brouhaha a while back, but everytime I read one, it looks like someone ate a thesaurus with a side of hyphens and then threw it up into dreamweaver.
As a side note, I really don't like the color Corsair picked for the retention mechanism. Ugh. |
Personally I don't think this review was that bad; many, many other websites who review watercooling kits are far worse.
Also as a sidenote, I can't find a difference between this kit and Swiftech's H20-120 (Rev. 3) kit besides the colour and 'Coolsleeves'; my guess is that the price will have a difference. :rolleyes: |
As long a companies send him free stuff... he will do reviews on them.
As long as his reviews seem favorable, companies will send him free stuff to review. At least he doesn't have the system in front of an open window this time :shrug: |

he did the whole review with the cpu block upside down
i mean c'mon, i just read the quick start pdf on corsair's website and it clearly states to have the outlet above the inlet to avoid air cavitation if the reviewer can not, or will not follow the manufacturer's installation instructions then the review....sucks, esp. for the review method he follows (system testing of a kit) edit, grammar |

my error, the review has the descriptions all f**d up (he cited the 775 which DOES have a step)
it is a flat bp, oriented incorrectly Corsair has good inst, a shame they were not followed |

If I were the manufacturer- or the private lable entity, I'd be grateful for a review such as this one.
The average tinkerer who buys the Swiftech-Corsair branded kit will get something that works and receive value for dollars. The underlying message of the review is that the buyer will get what he pays for, seems to me. What's the big deal? BTW . . . Does anyone here like those nylon ratchet clamps? Am I correct in assuming that the Corsair kit comes pre-clamped with Oetikers on the pump and the rad? I do not like those plastic/nylon clamps. I built a system recently and the only leak I had was on the joint that used those damnable clamps, lol. The Oetikers and the Ideals - are ideal. Cheers, Joe PS . . . I'm a n00b, so I really do not know the answer, but it looked to me like, if the block were fed by the center inlet port, the outlet would appropriately be the upper port? |
well after some email correspondence with liquid3d, it turns out the the pictures are from a preliminary mount, and though he took test data from that mount, he didn't use it
his test data that appears in the review is from a subsequent mount he says that oriented in the correct fashion, and gave slightly better results just a confusion where the photos are slightly diff from the real test conditions |
