Blockless in Seattle

Well I'm not in Seattle, but I do pine for my gpu block.

My credit card was charged on march 4th for a swiftech block, and I still don't have it. That's so long in computer days that I've already upgraded video cards. ;-). Now I need a different gpu adapter. Anyway, they say it's swiftech's fault and that they're not delivering.

On another note, the nvidia 6800 (nu) I got is sweet. I overclocked the bejezus out of it while benching hard, and it raised the temp of my case (according to the diode) from 38 to 51C! The friggin gpu read 75C which just freaks me out, but it's supposedly well within tolerances. I'm not sure any of that is right (that means a case hotter than my cpu), but it did feel like the whole damn room got noticably hotter. That thing pumps out some serious heat.

Have you e-mailed Swiftech about the issue?

it's swiftech's fault because they didn't tell you they had no stock when you ordered?
and why would they charge your credit card before they even had it in stock?
what vendor?

"it's swiftech's fault because they didn't tell you they had no stock when you ordered?"

yeah I know. maybe I should have put that in sarcasm quotes. The vendor is a small outfit. They are keeping good email contact however. Part of my order already arrived, but I'm still waiting on the last block. I guess that's what you get when you don't go newegg, but I didn't have a choice in this case.

I usually get my swiftech stuff from crazypc or directly from swiftech.

Not sure who disappointed you, but FWIW, I've had good luck and pricing from Sidewinder. I usually get my order two days after I make it. My past experience with them is that they mark an item as not available, or backordered on their web page as soon as their inventory gets down to zero.

i've had fantastic experience with sidewinder as well, for swiftech products and non-swiftech stuff alike
