Need some help. considering water block for GCSE :P
right guys. I've decided I don't like my Design Technology options. Plant pot holders...automated wine pourers, candle holders and rubbish.
I've PRETTY much decided i want to make a simplish waterblock. So i'd really appreciate people parting with their knowledge. Note: I want to try and include as MUCH into this project as I possibly can: Various machining processes. Methods of inducing turbulence + some theory Water Jet/accelerator plates to increase water flow/velocity. Water tighting (how do you put the plastic polymer on the metal and water tight it (i've see often you put some black rubbery looking thing insome grooves cut around the block...explain?) that's all I can think of at the moment But please let me know some designs, not sure what resources i'm available to but I'd like to know what machining processses there are etc. Cheers :) Appreciate nice long answers which I'll learn a ton from :) |
This site tutorials on how to make some blocks, which I'm sure the authors would be happy you using as a source.

yeah i can probably afford to go a bit harder than that... got a lot of hours to burn (ie more than just drilling for insecting holes sideways through a block of copper :P had a look at Rotors block designs...but I'd like to know some theory behind the scientific side of it.

:O had a read through the first article (all 13 pages...i feel i've learnt something) definately a lot of factors answers :) also pretty much rules out Jet type block...too difficult to achieve good results ...heck..i don't EVEN have a pump or ANYTHING yet..
need to try and find out what's better...Rotor/slit saw random channels with water pumped through middle ******ds with a slit for water to go through to increase velocity ...or just 2 connections. One at either side with slit saw straight microchannels ...hmm.. |
