Sli n Shiny Wavemaster
Thought it was about time i got one of mine in here so thanks for taking a peek.
This one started off as a bit of a trial and error log as it was before Danger Den started producing the NV Sli blocks so i had to make them myself. The Wavemaster had the anodised coating removed and is all hand polished with my own fair hands Wavemaster (Shiny) Asus A8N-SLI s939 AMD Athlon FX-55 Enermax Noisetaker 600watt PSU 2x 512mb OCZ PC3500 EL-D Western Digital Raptor 74GB 2x Gainward 6800 Ultra Golden Samples Sony DWU-18A 8x DVD±RW ReWriter Water Cooling:- TDX Athlon64 Maze4 A8NChipset 2x NV-68 GPU Block Laing DDC 12volt Pump BIX II Rad Papst Alu 120mm Fans on Vantec Rheobus Dual Floppy Bay-Res Tygon Hose Anyway without further ado, on with some pictures...... http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...polished_6.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...polished_5.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...polished_4.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...polished_7.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...polished_8.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...polished_9.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...olished_11.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/sli/52.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/sli/45.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/sli/46.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/sli/nv-68_sli_2.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/sli/47.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/sli/53.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/sli/48.jpg |
Very very nice.
I think you meant A8N-SLI s939 for the motherboard instead of SK8V I hope :) |
Cheers scooterfl, glad someone is paying attention :D
......the Asus SK8V (Socket 940) is in the Ventmaster |
Absolutely gorgeous!
I think I saw this installed in a Nubian Type J Transporter. (Sorry for the Star Wars reference, I couldn't resist) |
excellent work, may i ask where the BiXII is mounted ?
That 120mm fan grill is just for en exhaust grill right? and the rad i assume it is placed infront of the case? Cheers :) |
why dont they make cases with that kind of finish?
great work! /drool |

I finished the case when it was still home to a DFI m/board and FX5900 so the single rad was adequate for that but when i fitted the Sli blocks i top mounted a chrome BIX II the same as the black and yellow Wavemasters. |
Gorgeous--absolutely stunning--love the fat waterblock plates and the bezel work! Overall one of the finest llooking cases I've seen--it would be impossible to miss it walking in the room...

Eventually started marking out for a custom flame grill for this case.
Its going to be hand cut from 3mm aluminium plate which will obviously be polished once its all cut out so should look quite good providing all goes well. I first marked out the edge using the BIX shroud for a guide and then added some flames using one of mnpctechs flame stencils for reference. It'll do nothing for air flow but that was never the priority.......look good function second :) It will take quite a while so don't expect it finished tonight  http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...g/flames_1.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...g/flames_2.jpg Managed to get all the cutting done using a fret saw with the tiniest little 18tpi blades which was good fun so its just a case of filing the corners round and polishing the whole thing to match the shiny case. http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...g/flames_3.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...g/flames_4.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...g/flames_5.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...g/flames_6.jpg You guess correctly :) Got the grill polished using Peek and my trusty DA Polisher and then fitted so loads of pictures  All im waiting for now is the release of the NV-78 blocks to plumb in the GFX cards http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...g/flames_7.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...g/flames_8.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...g/flames_9.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/.../flames_10.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/.../flames_11.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/.../flames_12.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...bracket_24.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...bracket_28.jpg http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/...bracket_29.jpg |

very nice work!! |
You should make a tutorial on make it uber shiny and mirror ish.
|
Amazing job with that saw dude!
How much time take all that cuts? how many saws were broken in the process? man, I didn't know that type of tools could handle metal that well! Obviously it require a very skilled hand to get that quality results! ;) |
WOW! that case is wicked sick!
|
This is amazing!!!
should be nice if you explain stp-by-step how did you realized this chrome-finish.... expecially for the front panel |
