FAO Cathar
Not sure if you remember me (ordered 8 or so of your blocks in the UK). I have your LRWW and the base has some slight marks, whats the best method of taking these out? Would you recommend me polishing the base again or will I run risk of making it too thin?
Also do you have an email address I can contact you on. Thanks |
Try PMing him. :)

plasma cutter - great for taking out a few marks.

A quick hand-lap with 1200-grit paper on a flat, using (low smell) kerosene as a cutting lubricant, will be the best way to remove any marks and won't have a significant impact on the base-plate thickness.
Really though it shouldn't be anything to worry about. |

Do you happen to have any spare black bolts used to fix the 3 plates together? |

SHCS = Socket Head Cap Screw |
Would something like this suffice?
http://www.trident-uk.com/shop/acatalog/F841.jpg The description says SS.A4.Pan.Hd.M/Screw M4X12mm POZI |
Have also found this which is what you said
Tool-NET M4 x 12 BZP Socket Head Cap Screw But could I use the POZI head instead of having to use an allen key or do I need to use a SHCS? |
Harder to strip a socket head than a Posi one. You can also tight them more than the +. I wouldn't use them

the threads are in SILVER...im sure you could strip them with just about ANY "screw"
HERE is a thread over on OC where the G5 gets lapped. (and i learn to wet-lap) . |
