Rubbing Compound

I've primed & painted my case and now am up to a faded type shine. I want to make it a bit shinier though. I've tried clearcoat on a test piece but it makes it seem worse. I'm going to try rubbing compound but I don't know if I bought the right stuff. I have turtle wax polishing compound -- is polishing compound the same as rubbing compound or is it different stuff?

Any suggestions on how to get the finish shinier?

Joseph
