flow question for cathar ...

concerning whitewater does better flow increase performance?

I'm thinking of running in this config:

ww-L-out>MAG-1>(Y>rad>ww-in)<ww-R-out<MAG-2

in this setup each of the return barbs would have it's own MAG which would each output to a single Y therefore increasing the flow.

right now I'm setup in series with these two pumps and hardly notice much performance increase.

I read about G series performance increase with increased flow so I thought perhaps the same might apply the the whitewater.

thanks

I applies to all blocks... How much better is the more relevant question. Your question is answered already however. See attached graph. As GPM increases (Bottom) temps decrease (left).

thanks for the chart jaydee ...I'll give it a try!

Just for reference the ProCooling water block test results page is here: http://www.procooling.com/html/pro_testing.php Pretty slick.

You'll almost certainly lose performance is you go parallel.

Please let me know how much tubing you have and of what ID, and what radiator you have, and any other components in the loop. I can then use the PQ graphs to predict flow rate, and then the CW graphs to give an approximation of the benefit.

Remember also that the 80/20 rule applies in spades to watercooling. You acheive so much with the least, and then the extras just snip of tiny improvements. Cathar rigged up a tiny AUD$10 pump that managed like 1.5 LPM (or less?) and it was only 4 degrees C worse than his full on pump. Pump was so weak it couldn't prime the system!!!

I have approx 6' (feet) of 1/2" tubing for the parallel
(approx 4.5' for series which is what I have now).
dtek whitewater w/ aluminum top.
fluidxp+.
T connection for fill.
pro-120 core
2 shrouds + 2 120/80cfms
Y connection
2 dtek MAGs

is this what you are asking for or do you need more?

It just occured to me ...where do I put the "T" for the fill/bleed line?
I don't think I'd want it in just one of the return lines so would I put it after the pump or after the rad?
