I am worried about my pump's ability to provide enough circulation..please help me :(
this is the pump i bought..which is probably a bad choice:
http://www.alphacool.de/perl/shop.pl...&&art_id=15119 and this is my radiator (mora 2 pro) http://www.coolputer.fi/non-ses/tied...=1097&lang=eng my waterblock will be the Alphacool Nexxxos XP reviewed by this site: http://www.procooling.com/reviews/ht..._waterbloc.php the other components in the loop will be: AMD X2 4800+ 2 X ATI 850XT PE (Crossfire) Northbridge and 2 SCSI HD (15.3 Cheetah and 10K Fujitsu) in this HD watercooler: http://www.alphacool.de/perl/shop.pl...4&art_id=12410 as you can see, my loop has many components and must be very restrictive. The alphacool nexxxos review indicated that in order to get high performance, you must have a high flow rate, which most likely my pump won't provide.. Now, the article in this forum about pump flow rate stated that the best pump are the: Performance: Iwaki MD-20RZ Jack-of-all-trades: Swiftech MCP600/AquaXtreme 50Z Are those pump's quiet and where can I buy them online? Also, do you guys have any other recommendations on powerful but QUIET pumps? |
(W)MD20RLT can be had at most aquatics (ponds, etc) dealers ; the 20RZT is a bit harder to find, though www.customaquatic.com has them (dunno if they ship to canada). as for noise levels, i don't know.
the AQX 50z can be had at www.cooltechnica.com. dunno about shipping to canada and i don't know about noise levels (though i think its fairly quiet). |
I think you're gonna need an even more powerfull pump than a MD20RZ for that Mora radiator and the Nexxos XP.

A nicer more modern pump that sits in-between those two recommended pumps is the Laing D5, and with that pump, you'll be just fine.

You can save your money, if you have room in case, and just buy another small pump and place it in series.

^yes and no. if you use another AC pump, no.
If you use a DC pump, and have AC feed it, your likely to get higher flow / pressure. |
You can use 2 AC pumps in series...

There is no change in RPM with AC pumps, they all turn 3600 rpm, so how do you get much of a change in head?
Sure you will get differently effect, but a variable rpm pump in series is much more effective. |

but if you add more pumps that would compensate for the increased restriction and increase the head. you would never increase beyond the mas head of a single pump... or would you  |
