First post here..have an interesting question about watercooling loop
Hi everyone..this is mah first post here! So glad to see an entire community dedicated to Wasserkulung!
Anyways...lets get to topic, today i was chatting with my co-worker about watercooling several elements in the loop such as CPU, North-bridge, Hardisk, and 2X Video card the usual watercooling setup is like this: Resevoir -> PUMP -> CPU->Graphics->HD->NB ---> RADIATOR I because i am going to use the EVO passive radiator, and i am worried that by the time the water leaves the two graphics card, it will be too warm for the NB and HD, so he suggested me to change the order to this Resevoir -> PUMP -> CPU->Graphics->---> RADIATOR--->HD->NB do you guys think this is a good setup or will it cause performance decrease? |
Dosn't matter all that much. Each block will only pick up .2C to .5C roughly. Route the tubing to acheive the best flow rates. Higher flow rates will benifit more than part position.

I back up the above with some maths HERE (OCAU's new Wiki).
Unless you're dealing with very low flow rates or a killer rig (peltiers, multiple CPUs/GPUs etc) and hence dumping hundreds of watts into the coolant, the temperature rise will be miniscule. Also, I'll add that the NB and HDDs will not care a jot about water slightly warmer than how hot you'll want to run your CPU (and possibly GPUs) at. |
