How good is this? http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?inv...01-GPU&cat=FAN

Be noted that is for a video card not a CPU. Other than that I don't know.

They are not very good. Worse than good air, although they do have some value if you don't overclock. Undervolt the fans for a quiet setup...

I use the CPU 201 waterblock & it works well for me. I'm replacing it with an MCW6002 however since its not the best block ever. IIRC, on my AXP system I calculated a .2 c/w for the WC system in my sig where as an ALX800 & a 50CFM fan had a .26 c/w rating. With the boxed setup I'm not sure how it will do. I expect the MCW6002 to drop the c/w rating of my system to .18 at least.
(Note that all of the above c/w ratings are valid only for my system & only for my NF7 & AXP which are now dead so I can't get any new numbers from that. Those numbers are basically meaningless for anyone else's system but are good for showing that the block itself can do better than air cooling in a decent to mid ranged WC system like mine :D.) |
I got my GPU cooling kit in the mail today. It looks like a good kit, but When I tried to put the block on my graphisc card there was a problem because the two different sizes of brackets supplied are to big and to small for my ATI Radeon 9250. What should I do to get the block attatched?
|
What do you mean by to big and to small? Hole pattern?

I now have both of these kits. Both kits come with the pump/res/radiator box so should I hook up both of the cooler units in the same loop with the GPU and CPU block?
|
You could I guess. Would be good to keep them seperate for best performance. I imagine those rads are pretty much designed for not much more load than one block per.
