Dirt cheap 12V pump...

Cheap, submersible... 360GPH at 0 head. Thoughts? |
I wouldn't use it... but whatever. "Its maximum pumping height is 5 ft."
|
yeah, it's specs are crap but damn its cheap. I'm debating it for a water-to-water intercooler I'll build once it starts getting cold outside.
|
... circulation pump.
low pressure makes it (almost) useless for a watercooling loop. ... mtbf? |
Not bad.
Not great, but not bad; at least it runs at 3 volts; plenty of applications for that feature alone. |
Nice and small!
Wal*Mart in the Outdoor-Sports section sells bilge pumps that are beefier and cost $12. However, you only get one port outlet since the bottom uses a grill inlet suction side. Maybe it can be submersed into a reservoir made from a plastic coffee can. ;) I wonder where I've seen that recently. ;) |

That bilge pump was not fully in place earlier this summer. We had a power outage and the basement flooded. When we arrived home, I had to wear firemen's boots to slop around down there. The 800gph bilge ran for several hours non-stop until the basement water level fell below the sump hole. As for a longer term duration of running a bilge pump days-on-end, I have no clue. |

Such as? btw, had a few johnson bilge pumps on a project. not rated for continuous use. |
