As you can see the new site is up

After a good bit of work over the last couple months, Is finally here.

there are massive amounts of work to do on the back end, to get features like being able to post articles working, the reader workblogs, Search, Wiki

But the framework is now in place for me to get that stuff working. If you have any issues please let me know here.

One of the new features to be added is the ability to rank articles/reviews. More new features are on their way. New banners willbe going up on the front page and other pages on the site, they just arent there yet.

Hope you like it, its the single biggest change for procooling since it went online December 1999 and will pave the way for lots more goodness coming up (more info on that in the coming days)

Also you may notice that I have added a HTPC and a Silent computing forums. These are 2 key areas the site will be focusing on top of cooling coming up.

Update, I will probably have some downtime on the forums and site Sunday to upgrade the forum software. Nikhsub1 donated a chunk of cash to us so we could renew our license for vbb and get the new version!

Thanks Nikhsub1!!!!

I am going to be testing the new version on my test env here first, to see how it acts with the new site and all that.

The forum is setup to do Full Text searches now.

Should we report bugs here too?

Cause if you login from the front page it throws you to forums.procooling.com instead of back to the front page. And the forums.procooling.com Procooling banner points to forums not to main site.

Re: As you can see the new site is up

The banner is by design (the home button puts you where you want to go) but the redirection worked BEFORE the upgrade of the software, I am reaserching how to get that working again. I thought it worked after but I will have to test it.

Also the alphacool Nexxxos xp review seems to be awol. Maybe the old school waterblock comparison too?

Hmm shit I missed a couple reviews I knew it, but I thought I got them all back in there. Give me a day or so to check that again.

Protesting will be back up soon, I need to find a place to put it and a few other items. Also its on my list to look at getting that setup in a way that isnt quite so static and unable to scale.

Much cleaner than the old frontpage layout - like it... lots... would suggest more emphasis on block outlines/separators - at the moment they don't distinguish from each other at a glance... (ie: tech discussion / geek bits / market down lhs)
just a simple <br /><hr /><br /> between each (?)

cockup in forum skin mefinx... [code] boxes.

See http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...794#post149794 (also doesn't appear to be auto-hotlinking complete addresses << done manually)

[code] box should contain

{img}http://path.to.your/image.jpg{/img}

or summat like that (can't remember what I wrote).... with [] instead of {} obviously. Forums shouldn't parse the tags within [code] tags... should just display raw vb code.

The forum software update has changed somethings, I will check the config for vB to see if that changed at all.

either way I will get it fixed tonight :) THe forums upgrade so far has been much more glitchy than the site upgrade was hehe

I had a LOAD of work to get it working. I even had to update the PHP on the server. (to get the article posting system working. This was the first update post I did on the web server, everything else was done here before I updated the site.

so it was a learning experience.

its an issue outside of our forum, its probably a glitch in the software:

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1022680#post1022680

I posted an issue request for it there.

3.5.0 has introduced the [noparse] tag, so you can do this if you want:

[code][noparse]<any text and BB code you want here>[/code][/noparse]

Which would output:

Code:

<any text and BB code you want here>

As an example:

Code:

this would normally be [b]bold[/b] and [i]italic[/i]!

I am still pressing them about the fact that vb isnt auto parsing the links, and why the switch editor mode option doesnt show up for me or anyone else I think in the main reply windows.
