Storm Gone -- Which block is next?

To be serious about this, please do not be fooled by the title. By the Storm gone, I am saying this on online retailers/resellers. Many of the stores do not seem to be having in stock the Swiftech Storm. So thus, it is in my belief that it is pretty much EOL.

With this said, can anyone have any suggestions which one is the next best?

So far, all I can think of is the MP-05 from CT.

I like the Nexxos XP but it has its quirks

Is it being discountinued, or just supply issues?

With the increase in price to $80 and the release of the Apogee, it seems like both.

To be honest, I have no clue what is going on.

I'd like to think it's about cost issues.

Yeah, I'm really disappointed to see the storm go like that. I just rounded up the money for my watercooling components to see that the one part I wanted the most was pulled off the market.

Hopefully swiftech is just lowering the production and then raising the price.

Yeah, that is what just basically happened to me.

So far, it seems the other alternative is CT's MP-05 SP

A quick roundup through Google shows that 3/4 still stock the Storm.

What stores has them?

I just checked Xioxide, Jab-tech, and FrozenCPU.

EDIT: Never mind. Found some on Froogle.

However, I still think something else is gonna make the prices skyrocket

Do you know of a US-based source for this block that has the Socket 939 version?
I know it can be ordered from Alphacool/Germany but the shipping charges are ~ USD 38.

I would say the Apogee is a decent replacement for the Storm.
