Machining tolerances of Al...

just a quick question for those who might know: are the machining tolerances for Al any tighter than Cu? e.g. could one have a thinner base by using Al vs. Cu? FYI I'm not trying to start "the same old debat" again. I'm just curious as it pertains to a specific project that I might undertake.
