mcp-350 PROB

Ive had my MCP-350 for six weeks now, very pleased with its performance except this week it started the "you got to tap me to wake me syndrome" So when I fire up my comp I have to monitor my res for water movement and usually have to open the case and tap the pump to get it running. Has anyone experienced this and found the cause of the problem. I bought it from Jab tech and they promptly responded to inform me it is now swiftechs problem since my purchase is over thirty days old. I emailed Swiftech and have yet to hear from them I do hope they will make this right. Im just curious has anyone had this prob and has swiftech stood behind their product? BTW Im running distilled water/AF mixture and no contaminants are present. I thought this problem was corrected or maybe I got a pump from an old batch. Either way it is rather aggravating to say the least.

I've read that some of the 1st batch of MCP350/DDCs had the start-up problems. I bought mine from the orig batch (no rpm) I've 1/2" modded it, and it's run flawlessy since.
Laing has fixed the problem with a new PCB.. read about that in the "Big Pump Shootout" @ coolingmasters.
Good-luck with the RMA. I've got no experience with Swiftech's policies, except that Gabe wasn't too interested in selling/replacing a corroded MCW50 Alu top.

Thanks Wang. I got an email from Swiftech today and they are shipping my new one as we speak (its on a brown truck already!) Now all I need to do is ship the old one back to them and they picked up the shipping as well. A guy cant ask for much more than that. Im real happy cause this is a great performing pump and Swiftech stepped up to the plate to make it right.

Bigredhog,

Yes, we had recalled the older pumps and replaced them with the newer type. The older type are marked as 12V10W and the newer pumps are marked 12V18W.

Please RMA your pump for the new and improved version. :)
