Others' OCing experiences with Athlon's
I'm running an overclocked 1.2ghz 200mhz FSB AXIA Y athlon on an A7V, plenty of cooling power, and enough voltage (tweaked the mobo), but my FSB speed maxes out at about 119.... with the max 12.5x multiplier on the A7V, thats 1.5ghz, which is not at all shabby, but i've heard of people getting up to 266mhz FSB on the 200mhz Athlons...... maybe this was a false rumor, but anyone have experiences to share? Whats your highest FSB?

I'm running my AXIA on 9.5x144FSB (stock is 10x100), it'll run up to 150 if I drop my RAM to cas3, I just tweak the multiplier to maintain a reasonable clock rate. My mobo is a KT7A.

butcher, thats amazing.... that's a 200mhz FSB athlon? what type cooling? i would kill to have that type speed on my 1.2ghz athlon B (200mhz FSB) AXIA Y.

I was running my AXIA Y 1.33/266 @ 10.5x155 @1.85v at full load @22C before I broke down the system for a change, new CPU going in to the new one :) MB was a ASUS A7V133.

You will need a 266 fsb motherboard. The A7V maxes out at 115-120. Try another board with a chipset that will do 266 and you should get much faster.

A 200MHz Athlon and a 266MHz Athlon are the same kind of chip. The only difference between the two is that the 266MHz Athlons have lower multipliers to accomodate the higher FSB, so as long as you have one of the good stepping Athlon's (AXIA, AYHJA, and the newer AYHJAR) then you should be able to place that Athlon in a 266MHz motherboard and overclock it.
