Peltier calculation program

I have written a program which calculates the performance of a Peltier cooled system. You can download the program from my website, here.

More info and screenshots here.

Can you post it in zip format? :)

Mr Evil 11-29-2001 03:43 PM

Ok, I'll put the next version up in ZIP format, but ACE is much better. I expect it will be done by tomorrow.

It's not like compression matters when you have a 14.8Kb file, zip might make it like 16kb or what? Since everyone has zip and like next to noone has arc (the compression is like 1%-2% better btw) you'll just be sparing everyone the trouble by posting them in zip.

But it is better, and the only way it will ever gain acceptance is if people start using it.

excellent
thx for this prgm :)

This is like me and NOT using a floppy drive. I refuse to have one in my computer. They are obsolete, and should all be put in a History Museum. Then we can tell our kids how we walked home up hill both ways from school, and how we used floppy drives to store data!

haha I like the floppy drive analogy. Nice program!

awesome program, although I definately hate your background ;)

*adds the program to his start bar*

great program!! I used it for my box before getting a pelt.

Excellent. I'm glad it's being well used :)

Has anyone taken any measurements to see how accurate the program is?

dacooltech 02-09-2002 05:02 AM

great program Mr Evil, keep up the good work ;0)

it seemed to be accurate, however my actual temps were about 9C lower than it estimated, but that may have been because my cooling system was more efficient with the higher heat load.

It could be because the power output from the CPU never reaches the maximum possible value for very long. I have been told that most CPU intensive programs only get about 89% of the max power output on average.

Perhaps you could try doing the calculations again, but reduce the power of the CPU to 89% and see if that makes it closer to the real temperatures.

i tried the prog and its pretty easy in control, but what would be a good value for a copper coldplate and a good watercoolingsystem (Maze3,BIX,eheim1048) ?
And what is the default wattage of an 1800+ Palomino ?
