Dry Ice, first steps
 

This thread is just to show you our first experiment with dry ice.

We used a SanDiego 3700+. Unfortunately, we didn’t achieve the overclock level that we expected. This was our best result

since the processor turned out to be very unstable with a higher fsb.


Anyway, we feel quite happy with what we got ( –49° in a hot summer day, with a room temperature of 36.5° C). This is a good incentive for us to get a better processor and see how far we can go.
After more than 7 hours, there was no condensation anywhere, so we’re pretty satisfied about this too.

We’d like to know your comments and opinions, as we don’t have much experience on this matter.

No condensation? I would have expected some condensation on the motherboard just because of heat conduction through the copper traces.

Buenos Aires is on (or near?) the coast as well. Wouldn't it be humid?

Yes, Buenos Aires is on the coast. Usually, it´s very humid. I can´t remember how humid it was that day, though.
