What temperatures can I expect?

What temps can I except for the water (about 10% water wetter) in a watercooled system which is cooling a 1.333 ghz t-bird cooled with two 120 watt pelts? I have a Eheim 1250 pump and the radiator is a D-Tek Cooler (the big silver one). The whole system is 1/2" and I'm using a 120mm Sanyo fan to cool the radiator. I was just curious...because I'm thinking of getting two 172 watt pelts instead (only 2 bucks more), but I don't want to melt my tubing (most likely silicon hose reenforced with vinyl mesh). Please help me.

Since those Pelts run on 24v to get the 120 watts, what '2nd' power supply are you gonna get, if not, they will be 60 watts each :(

Less than that even as they don't have linear responce. However, even with full rated pelts I doubt you will have melting probs with silicone. Great stuff.

I have two 450 watt PSU's running in series. So I will run the pelts at 17v. I'm not sure if I could upgrade to the 172 watt pelts.

I see no problems with running your supplies in series and using 24V 172W pelts. Damn near a kilowatt of power should be enough for those beasts, heh (if you don't believe me do some math on the current draw of the pelts VS what your supplies can put out). If you want more information on wiring power supplies in series, let me know. You can email me at jastrckl_nospam@yahoo.com (without the _nospam).

I dunno how you people manage to get them pelts to run on ur pc power supply,... I mean u must all be crazy,... I mean I got a pair of 156watt pelts,... if clamped right, (yes you need a holy sh** load of pressure on them peltiers to make them work right - there's an article on this somewhere,.. i forget),... but on my rig i get about negative 20c,... and that wit a 1.8ghz p4 running at 2393mhz,... Maze 2 ,.. internal radiater... you outta hit neg 30-40 c,.. and you really should go get an externaly power supply from somewhere,... i got mine from an old fridge i took apart... go figure
