taps

i've been trying to find npt tap and die sets for building my waterblock and have been wondering where some of you got yours.

I've tried hardwarestores, but they only have ones for regular threads.

Any suggestions?

I got a few of mine at HomeDepot and ACE Hardware in NPT. I get my good ones at business's more aimed at commercial customers though. Try and fine a plumbing spacific store or a machine shop supply store.

The good old McMaster Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/
Or, a little cheaper, Enco Tools http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INSRHM?KNC-DV6174368836

Or you could look in your local yellow pages for "industrial supply".
Maybe there's a Grainger's near you. They supposedly only sell "to the trades" - but just show up in jeans and a workshirt and you're fine.
And there's the SnapOn truck - and the Mac truck, and some of the taps and dies you can get through HarborFrieght and Northern are actually decent.
As a BTW, I'd sugest not using a tapered thread, if it's at all critical how far down the "nose" of a fitting goes into your block. Parallel fittings require some sort of o-ring (or other secondary sealing) but you can measure how far a fitting "goes in" when bottomed against its shoulder and you can just cut it to length if you need less protrusion.
