Snap 1000 Blinking LED Problem

I reading the pattern as 1 system blink and 2 disk blink, which means Snap! Server does not have IP Address; Waiting for a download in broadcast mode?
The system and Disk LED blink at the same time then it add 1 more disk blink. then repeats.
Not sure what to do. The hard drive that was in the server Died and I replace it with a seagate 40GB st340014a with a snap IMG backup from someone else. Also tried a IBM DPTA-372050 20 GB. Same problem
Did a system reset to the unit and same problem. Unable to connect to WEB admin or with assit.exe.

Anyone have an idea what to do?

Thanks
Nick

Are you positive that the image you have is compatible with your unit? Did it image to the proper sectors in the new hard drive, or did it put the info elsewhere? Just some questions, I am not real sure what is going on with your unit...

Re: Snap 1000 Blinking LED Problem

Hello out there,

this problem is excatly the same i have.

one system blink, two hd blinks, no web-interface.

tried a 80 MB , 40 GB and 80 GB Drive, all the same ?!

i think, the image is not copied correctly ?!

looking at the hd, lets talk about mbr, bootblock and sectors.

where has the image to be located at (sector e.g.) ?

Re: Snap 1000 Blinking LED Problem

This sequence is missing the OS.

If it's a v2 which it proably is, if you can't connect at all. If a v1 you can connect with out any drives? Have you tried connecting with out any drives?

V1 & V2 image files are different. If you copied a 2200 image over you will need to drop back to a 1000. It should then work.

If the Sys & Disk blink at the same time, then 2 disk blinks. Its a MAJOR Problem.

It is a v2. because i can't connect to it without drives.
How do i drop back to a 1000? do i need an image of a 1000?
It is not blinking like this "If the Sys & Disk blink at the same time, then 2 disk blinks. Its a MAJOR Problem."

Re: Snap 1000 Blinking LED Problem

1000v2, 1100, 2000v2, 2200 all use the same image file. More than likely the image that you copied was not placed in the boot sector. Use a utility and wipe the MBR with "0" or a quick fat32 format. and try again. Remember you need to copy 25 meg, so make sure block size was correct (1024k) with count = 25, = 25 meg.

Breaking News

If you think, you have a model v2. try to use a v1.

after days of DD and plugging on and off and of course killing some drives, i figured out that i have a v1 snap1000 and suddenly, it came up.
