Seagate are probably your best bet

As long as IDE (preferable not EIDE) and ATA-100 you're fine

I like Seagates (5yr) and Hitachi's (3yr), which may be the factory install.

The largest drive size it can handle is 250 gig drives right?

Can anyone supply a model number to a drive that works. I dont want to buy 4 drives and have them sitting on a shelf because they didnt work again.

If its LBA38bit

> 137GB

So you should be able to get 500GB's

Most i've seen/people usually use is 300 or 400Gb....

I think you mean LBA48bit

With the largest drive now at 500gig.

No one wants to be the first to try the 500gig.

Even thought they are real expensive right now.

As Generic if the bios supports LBA48bit, any hd>137gig will work. The 4000 using Software RAID, LBA48 does not come into play.

What is your HW, BIOS versions?

Do a check with the FreeNAS and see if there is a drive size.

Hmmm...LBA38bit. I wonder what the hard drive limitation would be on that...LOL

I'll have to boot it back up moved away from it as im in the process of dumping all data off a 4100 so i can pull the drives and put them in a 4400 i just aquired (my second). Seems the guardion os may have drive size limitations also. :bawling:
