Snap 4000 security
Hi,
I have a Snap 4000 on a home network (without domain but with Workgroup) with an ADSL line. I want to have this server available from outside by FTP with the security user configured on the server as "Local User" and and to connect to this server from the home network without password or FTP, directly by the Windows Network. Today, I arrive to connect to my server by FTP from outside with security access, but I cannot connect to it from my home network. If I disable the security policies I can connect to the server from the network and from outside but in this last possibility, without password (not good to protect the datas). Anyone have an idee to resolve the problem ? Thanks in advance. |
Re: Snap 4000 security
What are you using to connect from the outside?
You will need to pass your username and password through on the cmd line/address bar . Or use a FTP program. I use FireFTP for firefox works great. |
Re: Snap 4000 security
I use a ftp client, I have no problem to connect from outside but I would like to connect from inside my home network, not through a ftp client but directly with standard windows file explorer.

Re: Snap 4000 security
As long as port 21 (FTP Port) is port forwarded on your router to your snap server, you will be able to access it
http://username:password@ipaddress or http://username:password@webaddress.com |
Re: Snap 4000 security
I think ftps:// is on port 22

Re: Snap 4000 security
I think :
ftp://username:password@ipaddress I know and it's working like that but I want to access to my server with neighboors function of windows. Is it possible or I must to use Ftp to acces to ma server ? |
