Dead Snap Server, Need Data From HD
We've got a SnapServer 1100 that just took a header, but we think the hard drive is still good and we need to get the data off of it.
Is there a way to mount the hard drive in a Mac OSX or Windows XP machine? Is there another alternative? Thanks! |
Re: Dead Snap Server, Need Data From HD
I'm afraid NO,
Snaps use a modified XFS File system. Must be installed in another snap. Yours is the new model which the OS in on the drive. Do you get any led blinking from the snap. Snap kicks out error codes from the LEDs |

Kind of a weird way to go, but if worse comes to worse, you can get an 1100 on ebay, sometimes without a drive even. This might allow you to install your old drive to retrieve your data. Just an idea.
