What block for low profile application
Picture a pair of XFX 6800xt's with fans on a ASUS M2N32 MB. They crowd out the slots below them. If I remove the fans and replace with low profile water blocks, then plumb them into a mix and match cooling system, my slots will magically become available again.
The only block I have found is a Thermaltake W0088 which is 11mm thick. I would prefer half inch id nozzles but may have to settle for three eighths. Check it out: http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/produc...8/cl-w0088.asp It comes with compression fittings. Evercool also has a block but it might have aluminum in it? The all in one gpu and ram block are significantly more expensive. What do you think? |
Re: What block for low profile application
Not the best place to ask this.
Thermaltake and Evercool (does not contain aluminum) make sub-par water-cooling equipment. And that kind of tubing arraingement will make it difficult to install RAMsinks. Have you looked at http://ekwaterblocks.com/shop/index.php?cPath=21_31 His full-cover are immaculate and around $80USD each. Just use http://www.xe.com to convert the prices. |
