SNAP Shutdown
Okay, let's try another little interesting item.
How about a SNAP server that shuts down instantly when you press the power switch, instead of the normal shutdown procedure? In this case, OS v3.4.805, v3.4.807, v4.0.830, and v4.0.860 have all been tried, each flashed several different times. It's not the Drives, Power Supply, or Switch Harness because when you move the Main Board to another SNAP server, the problem moves with it. It has been reset back to factory defaults numerous times as well. Everything else appears to work fine, no other problems. It just shuts down instantly instead of going through the normal shut down. Ideas anyone? |
Re: SNAP Shutdown
Does the shutdown cmd work through software?

Re: SNAP Shutdown
Is that just press and release?
Or press and hold? Cause it can be like the soft power buttons on a pc, press the button and it does software shut down, press and hold and it does a hard power off |

This is the command from the debug menu (as it shows from the help menu) power off (turn off the power, where supported) This is the results 10/13/2006 11:08:57 Command: power off Setting the power switch to 'off'... ------------ Command executed without error. But nothing ever happens. I can only assume this is not supported in the SNAP 4000 units. |
Re: SNAP Shutdown
Usually instant off vs delay off is set in the bios of a computer. Perhaps someone hacked this one you are talking about...
