Snap4100 - SMART warning
 

I have just taken responsibility for the Snap4100 at our small non-profit company, and have the following appearing in the server log...
Any suggestions regarding its severity, which disk it involves, where I can get more info/ etc....

If you take the cover off there is a drive map it will indicate which drive is which.
before doing ANYTHING with the drives. backup all the data. after youve backed up your data to a safe location, i would remove drive 10002 and run the manufactures utility on it to verify the drive is failing.

HD are not numbered that way, 10000, 10008, 10010, 10018.

DO NOT REMOVE ANY DRIVE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHICH ONE IT IS. Doing so may render the data set useless, and head you to the recovery man. Backup the data and if you can remove from service so you can work on it.

Smart data just gives you a early warning of drive failures. Once the drive fails completely a led on the ft panel will indicate which one.
