Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas, or what ever you celebrate... if you dont and you are just not going into work on Monday... well Happy Monday!

May your stockings be full of goodies, and your belly full of good holiday meals with your familys. (oh and may your comptuers run cold and silent) hehe.

Re: Happy Holidays!

My comp was cold an silent for 3 days. Hope you guys had a good Christmas.

On a side not I decided I needed a new air cooler because my stock AMD cooler's fan was getting loud on cold days (15F outside right now). So I went looking for a good cooler on E-bay. I had a Sempron64 2500+ @ about 1800mhz and it served me well but I figured I might find a deal on a CPU/Heatsink combo. I found a Athlon64 3000+ and an XP-90 cooler with a 92mm Panaflow on it. I bid $45.00 and won the auction... Now I type on my comp with a 3000+ running stock at 2000mhz at 31C with the XP-90 at 45% voltage. I can now hear my other case fan over it.:) Not a bad deal for $55 shipped. I gained 600mhz over the stock 2500+ and 200mhz over it OC'ed all for $55 and I have not tried OC'ing it yet. I hear these go to 2500mhz pretty easy. The Sempron at 1800mhz ran at 31C with the stock cooler.

My current system:
AMD Athlon 3000+ @ 2000mhz
Abit NF8
XP-90 with Panaflow 92mm Fan
1 gig PC2700
200gig 7200RPM Maxtor ATA 8meg cache HD
CD/DVD burner
Saphire/ATI XP1600Pro 256meg Vid Card
Windows XP-Home

Nothing I throw at it slowed it down with the Sempron at 1800mhz so I expect this system to last until this time next year. Only thing I might change is upgrading to 2 gigs of ram and maybe Windows Vista if I get a deal on it.

Anyway Happy New Year!

lol. I see the spam all over but in the Christmas thread? :( I'd edit it out but since joe is of a higher rank then I am, I am not able to modify posts in a thread created by him.

Another Christmas down... Was a very white Christmas here... Record setting snow for December. We got a bout 3 feet in the last 2 weeks and another storm rolling in tonight that may drop up to 7 inches more..

Happy Holidays...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, guys! We have our fair share of snow too (about 2 feet left after the intermittent thaws), but it's all good because my commute is so short (about 2 feet).

Yeah, you guys got hit hard to. It is now melting here in Spokane. All that snow is now turning to slush. Glad I am off work for the next week and have 4x4 truck.

Re: Happy Holidays!

4x4 Truck? Hah! Wimp! :D I had fun yesterday using my tractor with the bucket on the front to move snow. Actually, I was using it because one forecast said we'd get another five to nine inches last night and I didn't want to be stuck. Luckily it was only a couple of inches, and it melted significantly today. Rain is a wonderful thing here in a semi-desert environment. Who knows? They might have enough for the salmon AND the people this next year.
