1100 fan

Anyone know if the fan on a 1100 is temp controlled or should it run all the time.

Allow it to complete the operation. may have not been shut down properly.

If it is blinking rapidly contionus means panic. When this happens you loose access to the snap. Hardware Problem in most cases.

If you have the top off you must cover the opening between the HD and front housing, were the fan is. Otherwise it will over heat. The temp cycles between 90-130F.

The 1000 cycles between 110-140F

Thanks all.
We just replaced the orifinal 40GB drive with a 250GB drive using directions from the Wiki and I wanted to check the fan before I put it all back together.

For the most part, this is a very professional and helpful forum.

So exactly what are you trying to say? Spit it out... If you think I am unprofessional, just say it. But you had already gotten the answer to your question and I was trying to have a little inocent fun around here. I mean, after all, we don't exactly get paid for this stuff ya know. But comments like that are exactly what make me want to help people less and less every day. And if you can't take someone poking a little fun, then learn to ask your questions better.
