I've tried plugging in different drive combinations in my 4000 and no matter what it never boots. Neither the system or the disk LED ever glow. It is obviously connected to something, because it prevents the system from booting if any drives are connected to it.

Does anyone have a clue what it is used for? It sure would be nice to have 6 drives in one of these. I've already modded my power supply and up'ed my memory to 256MB. I'm sure it's a hopeless dream, but oh well.

With the snapos having a 1T limit the extra drives makes no sense. If you are need a spare PS you better check ebay, Phoenix has 2 for sell. The PC100/133 (non eec) ram uses the low density chips. If you install high density it will only see 1/2. You will have to search the forum for which chips. I know the last one used kingston.

Yup, and I only have 2. When they are gone, people will be back to paying NW Tech $150 for a replacement or $200 and up for a medical open frame.

My mistake I'm actually using a 128MB stick. The memory I'm using is a Micron PC133 CL3 (MT8LSDT1664AG-133E1). I believe it is high density but not sure (there is 8 chips on only one side) When I run 'debug memory' it returns this:
Total System Physical Memory: 134217728
So it looks good.

As for the 1 TB limit. I thought that was the addressing limit. So if one were to have two or more RAIDs or multiple disks shares it wouldn't be a problem. It is only if you wanted concatenate them all together as one big drive (over 1 TB) would there be a problem.

Also for the power supply it is just your average run of mill 250 watt ATX power supply. All you got to do is connect the red to red the yellow to the yellow, and the black to the black. Of course it is too large to fit inside the snapserver but I'll worry about modding the case later.

As far as i remember it wasnt just a run of the mill 250 watt atx psu

Its one that will fit in the snap server without any modding


Something like a network switch PSU thats been modded...?
