Snap 4000/4100 as Disk Image Storage

Hello,
I recently bought an old SnapServer Series 4000 not quite sure if 4000 or 4100. I've configured a RAID 5 with all 4 disks and wanted to use it as an FTP Server first. This didn't work as I wasn't able to get images (files between 1 and 6 GB) to the server. The next i tried was NFS and it seemed to work all files were transfered. But now I've discovered that I cant read Those files, trying to access the files leads to an "nfs server not responding" message after a random amount of MB has been copied. "rpcinfo -p serever" tells connection refused when the transfer stops. I've tried different rsizes wsizes as well as sync, async etc. I'm using NFS v3.
After not getting NFS to work I've tried to download the images via http but that aborts too after a random amount of mb's.
I'm going to try copying via windows share tomorrow but I don't think that will work.

I don't have the exact software version availible right now but it's a 3.4X and I remember that I discovered that I would need an update for 137G support. But as the disks are still the original ones no 137G support is needed right now.
Does anybody user a Snap as FTP or NFS Server with large Files and can suggest a SW-Version thats likely to work stable?

Thanks

EDIT: I've found the sheet I've written the exact versions

Modellseries: 4000
Software: 3.4.803 (Ge)
Hardware: 2.2.1
BIOS: 2.4.437

A 4100 is a 1 U rack size, where the 4000 is a 2U.

I use and store 2gig files all the time. I use filezilla ftp clinet for the transfer. If you have problem with filezilla, disable multiple threads. I would strongly recommend upgrading to v 4.0.860.

Read the FAQ's once you figure out which model you have. It will answer a lot of your questions.

Now with that said, the SnapOS is not Vista compatable. There is one thread that has all of the findings. Most of it worked but could not delete folders.
