SNAP 1100 Failed - Want to Replace Diske
I have a SNAP 1100 80 GB that just make the clicking sound when powered up. I guess the disk has gone. Read that I can replace replace the harddisk but cannot figure how to do it. I know that I need to copy some files from a SNAP using Digital Dolly. I cannot access the 1100 but I have a SNAP 2200 which I understand I can use. Can someone pls help in providing step-by-step instructions on how to copy file s from 2200 and transferring to new harddisk for 1100. Thanks a million!

Re: SNAP 1100 Failed - Want to Replace Diske
Try putting the HD is Ziplock bad and put the drive in the freezer for 30 min. The remove and see if it will spin up. So make sure your ready to copy the boot tracks if it spins up. You may ony have one shot. You can try replacing the contoller card on the HD if you have matching drive.

Re: SNAP 1100 Failed - Want to Replace Diske
Thanks for the advise. How do I go about copying the boot tracks of the 1100? If the freezer thing does not work can I use the boot tracks from the 2200? Anyhow, what do you mean exactly by "boot tracks"? how many files? are they easy to find? Sorry to ask so many question but I am really lost. :)
