Guardian OS image
Does anyone have an image of the Guardian OS for a 4200? I have four disks, but none have the boot sector on them... just blank disks, no partitions. I have the image in gsu format 112 mb from adaptec, but that doesn't work unless you can boot the device. I tried DDing just for the heck of it as per the wiki, but that didn't work.
Can anyone help out? Thanks. |
Re: Guardian OS image
Ouch...
Distributing the Guardian OS would DEFINITELY piss Adaptec off (not wise). Read the Legal Notice in the forum stickeys. Adaptec takes a dim view and active roll in pursuing this type stuff. |
Re: Guardian OS image
yes, I understand. Whatever solution works, if someone has an old drive with the os on it form an upgrade or something, I'd be willing to buy it... anything. I have a brick here and I'd like to get it working again.

ADMIN, if this is not legal, please feel free to delete my messages. (I am not a lawyer)

Re: Guardian OS image
It's gone. Andy :hammer: :hammer: You know better than that.
Distribution of Copyrighed Material in any form is not legal. If you sell your copy you transfer ownership and you no longer have it. And is required by licensing to DESTROY ALL COPIES. So now you do not have a copy. |
Re: Guardian OS image
LOL, well, I did not think of it that way to be honest. I was thinking if the drives were puled from a legit unit and put in a legit unit, you were okay, but seeing it the way you just put it, I think you are right. My bad... :hammer: Thank you for removing it for me... :dome: I do not need the hassles...
