TCP Transmission Retry Warnings in log file
 

I have a Snap server 4000 that I am using as a remote FTP server. I continue to keep seeing errors like the example below:

Network transmission errors : More than 21 percent re-transmissions reported by TCP/IP.

Does anyone have a clue as to why I am seeing this all of the time beyond the obvious answers to this question?

Does the SNAP OS have some known timing problems when being access by multiple users in FTP mode?

The server in question was used to transmit about 100 GB at one point, with no errors. So I am going to have to go with the obvious on this one, sorry... BTW, contact me in e_mail when you have time...

Yeah, I don't think that it is the server itself... I think it is the switch that it is plugged into. I am thinking that it is an issue with config of the port on the switch. It was working great till I had a drive fail.

My guess is that it is an issue with the switch or the cable.

I was wondering if anyone else had seen the issue and what they did to resolve it.

Sound more like a network problem. And/or you may need to boost your memory in the unit to give it more room to work in. Also limit the number of symitionus connection that one user can run. I notice with FileZilla it was faster limiting the connctions to under 4. More than that seam to generate errors.
