SnapExtensions - Virtual Machine
 

Hello,

I recently had a drive fail on one of my 2200's. I followed the directions on this site and replaced both drives with new ones (Thank you). All is well except that I don’t have the "SnapExtensions" menu option anymore. I have a second machine that I sync with using "Server to Server Synchronization". The second server pulls the data. Any ideas on what happened to the Virtual Machine?

Also, I have all the valid licensing keys for S2Sv1 but I'm not under an Adaptec support contract. Is there a way to download VM again? :confused:

VM is distributed with the complete OS set. Normally it's in the same directory as the OS when it is unpacked as long with S2S. You will need the same VM as your OS (v3 or v4). The file you are looking for is "snap_jvm.sup".

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'm not "Entitled" to download v4 of the OS although it’s the current version I'm already running. :( My support agreement is expired. Thing is, I have another working unit with VM and S2S installed. I also have the license keys they sent me a couple of years ago.

Is there any way to copy it from the working unit or get the extensions somewhere else? ;)

Search your backup files. If your like me I have tons of CD's with backups on them. Search for your SnapOS. All should be together.

You do do backup.... Right...

Yes, I backup my data on the drive and use replication to make this data available on the second snap server at a different location. However, I don’t back up the SnapOS as I imagined that I would be able to download software that I already own. Not to sound rude, but I'm a bit aggravated with Adaptec. Any other suggestions?
