Upgrading a snap server 12000

hi, I recently acquired a snap server 12000 ... all the drives in it are 80 gb seagate Barracuda ATA -100's they work but i have 12 Maxtor 250gb drives lying around that are ata-133..... My main question is when i remove the 80 gb from the drive cage and try to replace with the 250 it doesnt line up with the connector ont he back of the cage. Is this a 100-133 difference? it is a small board with the power and ide connector with with anothe connector on the other side to attach to the back plane. Can i get another adaptor... or will these drives not work? thanks.

There are no other adapters that I know of. You'll need to find drives that line up with the connectors on the drive carrier. I don't think it's a 100-133 difference as much as how the drive manufacturers have laid out their connectors. It's been awhile since I looked at one, but I think WDs wouldn't fit, whereas Seagates would.
