Help, reload OS

I contacted Adaptec, and they were kind enough to send me a full install of OS. How do I install on a new hard drive??? It does not contain any BIN files. They said look in their ASK Knowledgebase on how to do it. I can't seem to find anything except to send the unit to Adaptec. The unit in question is a Snap1000, I tried copying a Snap 2220 on to it and got the 1x2 blinkin LED's.

Make sure you have the drive jumper set as Master, if that does not work try CS. Some HD like maxtors do not play well with the older units. So try a different mfg, like WD or seagate. If it still does not work, wipe the HD clean and reload the img file. If it does not work you have one of the older units that will require the 1000 image file.

If you are the original owner of the 1000 and have the CD's that were shipped look on them for a program called snapman. It would at lease get you running. The original units only have 32meg of ram, and have know to have problems with v4. So stay with v3 for better compatiablity.

By the way snap does not use an image file, they have utilities and a special network setup to load them. The image file was discoverd by hackeres not wanting to PAY SnapAppiance at the time.

Well you only option is to hunt the BT for a 1000 image file. If you have tried a second time to load the image you cuttently have. Now your existing HD if it spins up, you still may get enough of the boot tracks. Just depends on howit failed. I've even swapped out controler boards use a same model working drive for recovery.
