Clear top with threads for barbs, what material?

Making my own CPU block, finally... All copper base, and I'd love a clear top. But since I'll have to thread the holes and screw the barbs directly into the block, what material would be best to use? What's least likely to crack, or have the threads wear out?

What tools do you have to mak the top with?
Acrylic would work.

The best material would be Delrin, if transparency is not a necessity. It has excellent machining properties and will not crack.
