I am also a guy who would rather waste the money on a different kind of ring - I would install some gig FDDI ring in her place for her to run her machines on http://www.procooling.com/ubb/smile.gif hehehehe

that would say nuth'n but love I think http://www.procooling.com/ubb/smile.gif

Just a question:

Is an engagement ring the same as the Marriage Ring you out on the wife when you get married?

syran 01-13-2001 12:00 PM

It depends. Many engagement rings these days do both duty, they are an engagement ring, however, they have an extra band that can be attached to the engagement ring to make it a wedding ring. *shrugs* I learned all that stuff with my $800 engagement ring I purchased for someone who wore it for a year before giving it back... However, many couples prefer a straight band for their wedding ring, so it all depends.

*shrugs*

Good Luck Microsoft, just get her a nice one, donesn't have to be expensive or cheap, just let it look nice and suit her tastes http://www.procooling.com/ubb/smile.gif

YA Microsoft!!!!

A good place to find nice jewelry is to try the smaller Ma & Pa stores, problem though is that the prices might be higher

Depending on where you live there are often factory type jewelry stores that import the stones and often sell to the smaller mom & pop stores that you can go to. They've just taken to selling direct now.

They're worth a look price and style wise as they often do their own settings and might have something unique that you'd like.

As for the other person question about the difference between a wedding ring and an engagement ring... The common practice these days is to get a engagement ring that is a single band with stones set in it (normally a diamond solitare). Then for the wedding you get bands with no stones that match the ring and you put one on each side of the engagement ring. This creates the wider look that most wedding ring have. My mom and both my sisters' rings are like this.
