Snap 2200 Power Supply BLINKING - no boot

I currently have a snap 2200 240GB model that cant turn on. when i insert the power end into the back of the snap, i noticed the green light on the power supply starts to blink in a DIM state close to a blink every second. i checked the the connectors, outside and in on the MB of the 2200, as well as another working power suply connected to the same snap 2200. the power supplies are good since they currently power two other snap2200 models. this one is just dead without response. any ideas?

Re: Snap 2200 Power Supply BLINKING - no boot

Some of the switched use in the 2200 can go bad. They were not design for daily power cycle. The try pressing and wiggling the switch. It's also could be a HD failed and is drawing to much power. May want to remove the drives and see if they will spin-up.

WARNING: if you do this DO NOT LET WINDOWS see the HD. Other words remove the boot drives from the PC and set a side (or remove cables). You will not beable to see see anything on the HD's but you will confirm they are spinning up. Look into the BIOS and see if it reconizes the HD correctly.

i already removed the housing as well as the Hard disks. removed the internal battery, and then tried powering up the snap. still nothing. the power supply still faintly blinks about every second or so as was with the snap fully assembled. ??

A 2200 snap will not boot with out a battery. See if it's bad.

I did put the batt back in and try to boot. Does the faint blinking of the power supply mean anything specific? Im going to pick up a batt and replace and try that in the meantime.

ok, replaced the internal battery with another(NEW) CR2032 Lithium battery. again, when inserting the power tip into the back of the snap2200, the power supply began to blink. i tried powering up wiggling the connector, but nothing different. seems totally dead. i get no response out of this thing at all. any ideas on the power supply blinking? i feel as if thats a key indication of what may be the issue. thanks again..

My guess it's blinking do to overload, normally it's solid. Either you have a HD locked or bad MB.

if thats what "blinking" means, then its prob the MB. because it does it without the drives connected and vice versa. thanks!!

Just for kicks try the factory reset, 4 blinks. You will need to us Assist to set the unit backup if it takes.
