Funny network transfer rates on Snap Server 4500

Hi all, apologies for yet another question on the 4500. I have recently acquired one of these units and am in the process of now backing up my data to a 4 x 250GB RAID 5 in this unit. I have installed Windows 2003 server on it and the Broadcom NIC drivers for the network cards. The problem though is that I am seeing very odd transfer rates on this device as depicted by the attached picture. Very odd that it transfers full speed for a few seconds and then bottoms out for a few minutes and then repeats the cycle. Very interesting I think personally. It doesn't matter whether I transfer big files or small files. I have no problems transferring between other PCs on my LAN i.e. I get constant 10MB/s transfers. Any ideas?

What your seeing is a buffering problem. The GOS units need a min of 1gig of ram, I think they run better with 2 gig. Most of the 4500 came with either 256 or 512k.
