GuardianOS Install on Snap Server 4500
Hello Everyone,
I bought a used snap server 4500, with non of the drives had GuardianOS on them and it even has no maintance contract :( ........ I hv got the latest GuardianOS full image files 5.1.041, but its password protected :(, since i am out of mainainance contract they would not help me with passkey. Can anyone help me with either new OS image without password protection or password for the zip archieve. I have to get the server up and running............. Thanks in advance..... Re: GuardianOS Install on Snap Server 4500
Hi Mitch
the original Guardian OS 5.1.041 file isn't zipped. Its name is 'GuardianOS_5_1_041_full_OSImage.gsu' and it is 134.682 kB. If you have a zipped file, someone has zipped the original. You have to ask the person who gave it to you. Greetings from Germany |

Re: GuardianOS Install on Snap Server 4500
Matery,
It takes a working unit to transfer the OS to another HD for use. If your unit will not boot either to the recovery console or gui, the GSU is useless and will not work. The gus is just compressed files of the OS. Them by themselves are useless. I have answered this question many times on this forum. IT TAKES A WORKING GOS SNAP SERVER or HD To BOOT A GOS unit. NO working HD means their is no means to transfer the OS to another hd. |
