Snap server 2000 - failure HELP!

Dear all, thank you for the precious help you'll be albe to give me.

This is the log I could reach from the debug area. I suppose a disk has failed. What to do now? Do you think I still can access my datas or are they loss?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Snap server 2000 - failure HELP!

What Raid config were you in? If Raid 1 your data is there. If rain0 your sol.

The log only shows 1 HD, Looks like drive 1 is missing.

You are also on a very old SnapOS version. There is resent link for a free download of the latest. Get it but do not install just yet.

Thanks so much. I suppose it is in raid 1 (or I hope it). Any way to check it now?

I cover HD replacement in the FAQ's..

Spinright by grc can do some disk repair too.

Re: Snap server 2000 - failure HELP!

Fortunately I've solved putting the good HDD in first position; datas were safe. I'm going to buy a new peripheral for storage and backup but I'd like to mantain the glorious Snap for other purposes.
I've got other two twin HDD and would like to start again the machine (I think I've understood how to format and replicate the mirroring in Raid 1), but calling it's IP it says there is no language configurated and I don't know what to do. You suggested to put a new OS but can't fine the image of it... I would be happy the same mantaining the obsolete OS (it worked well till now), but at the moment I can't reach the config panel... is it an OS problem?

Thanks again

Re: Snap server 2000 - failure HELP!

Here is the link http://ftp.overlandstorage.com/cm/tm...OS_4_0_860.exe

It should be complete along with Assist. Assist will locate the unit and allow the inital setup. Once complete the language flag will get set correctly and a IP will be set. If you did a reset to factory it cleared the network settings to 0.0.0.0. Assist must be used to correct this. If your system led is not in the normal heartbeat pattern, there may still be a problem.
